Huntley Independence Day Parade 2025
Assemble at the corner of Bakley Street and Kiley Drive, Huntley -- we are #26 -- look for our float.
From the staging point, the parade goes south to Main Street, west on Main Street to Woodstock Street, north on Woodstock Street to St. Mary's Church, 10911 North Woodstock Street, one block north of downtown Huntley. It's about a mile in length.
As usual, park near the parade terminus, and our shuttle will run you over to the staging area. We'll pick you up at St. Mary's Church, 10911 North Woodstock Street -- watch for our red van. The shuttle will run from 2:00 to 3:15pm.
Please note -- Huntley's rules are unusual and very strict. They are concerned about political involvement and messaging as a result of some very negative behavior on the part of spectators at previous parades (your guess on who that was). Because the point of participating is to show Huntley that Democrats are here and proud Americans, we plan on respecting these rules. "This parade is a celebration and not a political event." Participants can not carry signs, banners, posters, wear clothing with Dem or issue messaging, or participate in any "anti-Trump" or other political rhetoric. Participants can wear red, white and blue, wave flags, carry things related to July 4th as a celebration. They may also wear current local candidate shirts. Please respect these restrictions. If you are wearing or carrying anything that would be construed as contradicting the rules Huntley has set out, you will not be allowed to march with our contingent.
